One of the guys objected to my wearing hakima pants. I'm not sure what the whole story was, Ducks won't tell me what the words meant that he said, but the guy just attacked. I entangled him with my hands and clipped him behind the ear with a roundhouse kick, dropping him. His buddy jumped in and got a cross cut (double handed block. left foot reap, then top hand rotates left, bottom hand rotates right in an upper body wheel throw. I have to perform it dropping a little, but the block is what disrupts the balance and then the wheel throw takes advantage of the reap to complete the move. I drop for added force. It takes perfect timing, but the guy telegraphed his charge at me). I wheeled in guard to see what would come next and by that time Ducks was next to me and everyone else was trying to calm things down. Hot heads. Guess they thought I was wearing the pants because they looked cute and that Ducks was putting up with that because he was sweet on me. Some people get so bent out of shape at customs and propriety. Not that I wouldn't have done whatever it took not to be noticed, but Ducks told me that at my skill level it would stick out if I didn't dress properly. Darn, he is cute, but he lacks good sense so often. Anyway, with the attitudes, there goes my chance at a date this weekend. Ducks is kind of a straight arrow and just a rumor of something like that and he'll act the other way just to show everyone they were 100% wrong. He has so much studying to do, I guess he would have only been good for a short date anyway. At least he read Planet Law School and was prepared..

The guy I dropped with the kick came to in about half an hour, his buddy I threw was just shaken up and then in penance (a mild sort, just told to sit next to his friend until he came to).

Decided that this was a distraction from the plot line, and while accurate for many dojos of this type, not the kind of place I wanted it to be. So we changed it, but it is a good explanation of a cross-cutting blocking throw, so I decided to keep the text.  If the throw is executed from the sweep as one engages, without the cross strike, it isn't a cross-cutting throw.  It is easier, but there isn't the control where the throwee ends up, while the cross-cut drops them in place.
