‘I know what they are feeling,” I said, nodding towards the rioters.

‘Then I pity you.’ the man said.

I was taken aback. ‘Pity me?  Why?’

‘Because you have become your own enemy’ he answered, quietly but resolutely.

‘What if circumstances are such that I am justified?!’

‘Exactly.’

‘What is that supposed to mean?’

‘You have become your own enemy.’
